Our story

Why Luna?

Luna Box was born from a personal journey. I struggled with hormonal imbalance for a long time – it affected almost every part of my life, often leaving me feeling low, tired, and disconnected from my body. I didn’t know what to do about it.

One day, my psychotherapist recommended me a book. In it, the author beautifully compares each phase of the menstrual cycle to the four seasons: bleeding as winter, ovulation as summer, and so on. This comparison helped me to see my body differently by giving me an understanding of how my energy levels, moods, and needs naturally shift over the course of a cycle.

So I started tracking my cycle and reading more about how our hormones can shape our energy, our emotions, and our focus. As I began to follow these patterns, I realised how much food, rest, and self-awareness could support my emotional and mental well-being.

II started exploring seed cycling, a simple practice that guides you to consume flax, pumpkin, sunflower, and sesame seeds during different phases of your menstrual cycle. And it made a real difference for me.

However, I have to say here that I am someone who feels the heartbreak and injustices of this world very intensely. I find it to be a privilege that I can focus on my own well-being in this way, so I strive to remain attuned to the struggles of others while doing so. (In fact, making donations to communities who need support is something I’d love to incorporate into Luna Box as it grows.)

But, for now, seed cycling – and matching herbal teas – to each phase of my cycle has become a vital ritual for me: a way to pause, nourish, and listen to what my body needs. It’s able to draw on the nutrients and qualities of the seeds and herbs, and be supported at each stage of my cycle.

Through these small, but consistent acts of care towards myself, I have realised that while we can’t control everything that influences our well-being, we can care for our bodies and minds gently, using what we eat and drink to help us do that.

Every Luna Box is hand-packed in Berlin with a selection of organic herbal teas and seeds, designed to bring nourishment and support to each phase of your own menstrual cycle.

As someone who is neurodivergent, I can find it difficult to remember the phases, and buy the seeds and teas I want when I need them, especially while managing work and life! Plus, there is still far too little research and education available about menstrual cycles and our well-being. It can feel overwhelming.

So the idea behind Luna Box is to make all of that simpler: bringing teas, seeds, and information together in one eco-friendly package that offers nutritional support, pathways towards deeper self-knowledge, and calm into everyday life, in harmony with the body’s natural rhythm.

Of course, not everyone experiences hormonal challenges like I did – and that’s perfectly normal too! – but Luna Box has something to offer for anyone who wants to reconnect with their own internal rhythm, whether for hormonal balance, self-knowledge, or simply a moment of care.

Luna means ‘moon’ in Latin — steady yet ever-changing, its phases mirror the natural cycles within us: expansion, release, renewal. Luna Box is a way to reconnect with that rhythm, to notice, nourish, and find balance through each phase of our own cycles and flows.
